Kasthmandap aircraft crash lands, both pilots dead




Kathmandu, 26 Feb – In the crash land of the Air Kasthmandap plane on Friday two people lost their lives, the plane pilot Dinesh Neupane and Co-Pilot Santosh Rana lost their lives in the plane crash, confirmed Tourism Minister Anand Pokhrel.

The 9N-AJB aircraft that took flight from Nepalgunj to Jumla at 12:16 PM on Friday on-board 11 people including 2 crew members crashed into a steep descent, told eye witnesses.

Nepal Army spokesperson Brigedier General Tara Bahadur Karki said that a joint team of Nepal Police and Army are on their way to the accident site.

Karki informed that the rescue team will reach the site within one to one-and-a-half hour time.

Nepalgunj Air Traffic Controller has suspected that some passengers may have sustained major injuries. Helicopters from Pokhara and Nepalgunj are ready for rescue operations.

Passengers name include Ganesh Bhattachan, 35, Megh Raj Giri, 35, Jagadamba Khatri, 25, Sonali Bhattachan, 16, Laxmi Sunar, 30, Govinda Bhandari, Laxman Khadka, 34, Dhananjaya Khatri, 31, and a child.
